This article discusses how to use the statistical database and the mechanism of integration of vector data of geographical objects to study and analyze the dynamics of population change. Practical work will be done on the transformation of GAT layers into complete geo data by obtaining geographical information and performing a series of operations on it. The relevance of the topic is due to the need for renewed research on changes in population dynamics at the local and regional levels, due to fundamental changes in the mechanisms of development of the demographic situation in the post-Soviet space. Among the methods for studying population dynamics in a territorial context, cartographic ones dominate, which in the last decade have become relevant due to a systematic vision of the processes of the dynamics of mapped objects and phenomena, the transition to geo information methods and digital technologies for obtaining new knowledge about the spatial development of regions.
