Due to the increase in population and the process of industrialization, energy
needs have increased. The issues of ensuring the quality of electricity (CE) systematically arise in
the electric power systems (EES) of different countries of the world. This is due to an increase in
the share of electric receivers (ES) with specific loads in power supply systems, which lead to
distortion of the shape of the voltage curve and to an increase in electricity losses in the
networks. The deterioration of the indicators characterizing the quality of electricity in relation to
the normative values according to leads to additional heating of the current-carrying parts of
generators of power plants. This issue is of particular relevance in the EES with a significant share
of the load capacity in relation to the installed capacity of generators. Modern power supply systems are connected to many non-linear loads. There are known ways to improve QE, including
using the latest CLOUD COMPUTING monitoring information technologies. The influence of lowquality electricity in the power grids between the supplier and the consumer is considered. The
ways of practical solution of the problem of electricity quality are given. The analysis of existing
devices for measuring the quality of electricity and their main characteristics is carried out.
