In this article, in order for the products produced today to be of high quality, safe,
and the percentage (%) of damages caused to the environment to be at the standard level as much as
possible, most textile enterprises should implement the international OEKO-TEX 100 standard, and
in addition , relying on the 6 principles of the OEKO-TEX STeP model (chemical management,
hygiene and environmental protection, environmental management, social responsibility, quality
management and labor protection) and the production of quality products based on the application
of principles such as safety, as well as workers , are also trying to protect the environment from
harmful fashions, and the enterprise certified with the OEKO-TEX STeP model is confident of entering
the European market with its quality products without any obstacles. Therefore, in the following
sections, the possibilities of introducing the OEKO-TEX STeP model to textile enterprises and how
much profit the enterprise can achieve through this will be considered. Also introduced are the
sections of the OEKO-TEX 100 standard that focus on the production of methods for testing hazardous
substances such as formaldehyde, phenol or pesticides such as pH, heavy metals, toxic dyes, crop
protection agents and carcinogens In addition, the test methods must also comply with the
requirements of these standards. If all components of textiles without exception meet the requirements
of the catalog of Oeko-Tex criteria, the textile manufacturer receives a certificate and Oeko-Tex label
for marking products in stores will be explained in detail.
