Acquiring knowledge in an academic field is not just about learning information, but also requires the ability to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information. This article explores the paramount importance of nurturing critical thinking skills among philology students. By delving into the significance of critical thinking in philological studies, examining key methodologies for fostering these skills, and highlighting the myriad benefits they afford, aimed to underscore the indispensable role of critical thinking in shaping the next generation of philologists. This article also gives examples of how educators can cultivate an environment that encourages inquiry, analysis, and intellectual autonomy, empowering students to engage with texts thoughtfully and meaningfully.
