Any language unit, when used within a certain style, precisely within the framework of an artistic style, certainly serves an artistic purpose. The author skillfully uses them to individualize the character of his hero, to reveal his unique features, and most importantly, to bring him closer to the people. Sometimes, in addition to the meaning expressed by the hero in his speech, he can also express other aspects of meaning. The meeting of different styles in the work of art further expands its scope of content. This, of course, also depends on the artistic skill of the writer. The use of folk phrases, similes, similes, metaphors, figurative expressions, wise words and proverbs in the composition of a work of art on the one hand shows the eloquence of the author and the sharpness of his pen, on the other hand, the language in the work serves to provide information about the cultural thinking, mentality, customs and perception of the world of the people. In our research, we also studied language units formed on the basis of the lexeme "water". We tried to research them from a linguistic, cultural, ethnolinguistic point of view, dividing them into meaningful groups. Our attention was drawn to the fact that most of the above-mentioned language units were formed on the basis of the lexeme of water. Some of them are used as they are in the vernacular, and some of them are used in the hero's speech as a product of the author's artistic thinking
