The aim of the article is identification of the core of the expressive competence that has integrated character. The positive experience in application of different approaches, methods and techniques in development of expressive competence is discussed. Besides, in the article the procedure of empirical study of ways of the 1-2 year students’ expressive competence, development at English classes in the context of efficacy is demonstrated.
