This article analyzes information on the issues of Metrological support in
industrial enterprises and laboratories in modern economic conditions. Through the correct
selection of measuring instruments and methods, issues of improving the quality and
efficiency of measurements in industry and laboratories are solved. Alternatively, when
choosing measuring instruments, the main factors affecting it are listed. And the analysis of
errors caused by these factors is also given. Various methods and ways to reduce errors have
been considered in error detection. On the basis of the analyzed data, recommendations
were made to select a measuring instrument and reduce its errors. Therefore, the role of
errors, which is one of the Metrological characteristics of the measurement instrument when
recommending it for production, is considered very important. Depending on the area of use
of the measuring instrument, the requirements for their errors will also vary. If it is not
possible to eliminate errors, they are reduced by eliminating the causes of their origin,
adjusting the measuring instruments at the time of verification and before starting the
measurement, applying special measuring methods and performing other processes. Modern
measuring instruments currently in production are equipped with microprocessors that allow
you to automatically find and exclude systemic error values. In this article, the authors
analyzed the methods of choosing a measuring instrument and reducing its errors, as well as
