Cotton drying in cylindrical dryer drying equipment consists of complex processes,
and its theoretical analysis causes difficulties. In the studies carried out in this direction, the processes
occurring in cylindrical dryers, such as changes in the moisture content of raw cotton and its
components along the length of the cylindrical dryer, their heating temperatures, and the effective use
of the cylindrical dryer volume, have not been fully resolved. The researchers calculated only the
amount of heat used for heating and dehumidifying the cotton, and the other heat consumption,
including heating the surface of the cylindrical dryer, and the heat escaping to the environment, were
not taken into account. In the equations for determining the heat received by raw cotton in heat-moisture
exchange processes, the problem of heat extraction from the air was considered mainly by the
convective method, and the heat exchange between "hot air-cylindrical dryer" and "cylindrical dryer
surface-cotton" was not taken into account. In the article, the extraction of moisture from the mass of
raw cotton, the emergence and development of the processes of moisture exchange in its components,
and the character of the effect of the drying agent and the drying mode were conducted. Taking into
account the additional consumption and loss of heat, the pattern of changes in the heating temperature
and moisture content of cotton and its components along the length of the cylindrical dryer has been
determined. Based on them, recommendations are given that can be used in the development of worming
technology and techniques.
