This article explores English and Uzbek phraseologisms—particularly those that include names of human body parts (somatic idioms)—from a cognitive linguistic perspective, identifying their semantic and figurative coherence, similarities, and differences. A comparative study of the cognitive features of phraseological units is significant not only theoretically—for understanding the conceptual motivation behind language units—but also practically in fields like translation, lexicography, and foreign language teaching. Comparative analysis of English and Uzbek idioms contributes to a deeper understanding of the linguistic reflection of each nation’s worldview and cultural experience.
