Zilzilalarni erta aniqlash hamda ogohlantirish tizimlari uchun epitsentral masofa va magnitudani tezkor baholash muhim ahamiyatga ega. Maqolada qisqa vaqt ichida bitta seysmik stansiya ma’lumotlaridan epitsentral masofani baholashning yangi usuli taqdim etildi. Kuzatilgan seysmik signallardagi farqni miqdoriy topish uchun Bt•exp(-At) ko‘rinishdagi oddiy funksiya kiritildi va eng kichik kvadratlar usuli bo‘yicha A va B aniqlandi. Bu funksiya signal konvertining boshlang‘ich qismiga moslashtirildi va log B log D ga teskari proporsional ekanligi tadqiq etildi. Bu yerda D epitsentral masofa. Bu munosabat zilzila kuchidan qat’i nazar to‘g‘ri. Undan foydalanib, P-to‘lqini kelgandan so‘ng deyarli darhol epitsentral masofani taxmin qilsa bo‘ladi. P-to‘lqini kelgandan keyin berilgan qisqa vaqt ichida kuzatilgan maksimal amplitudadan kattalikni osongina aniqlash mumkin. Bunda epitsentral masofa parametr sifatida empirik kattalik – amplituda munosabatlarni o‘z ichiga oladi.
