ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
The study investigated the accumulation characteristics of the element lead (Pb) in cucumber crop organs. The studies were conducted in laboratory and field conditions, in artificial and natural contaminated soils in 2021–2023. According to the results of the analysis, it was found that Pb bioaccumulation in cucumber organs occurred in the order root → fruit → leaf → stem. High accumulation of lead was noted in root and fruit organs. In artificially 5-fold contaminated soils and in complexly affected variants, cucumber fruits had a Pb content 2–5 times higher than the REM. This situation poses a serious threat to human health and it is recommended to plant agricultural crops in such areas with recultivation work.
