The article examines the harmful effects of pesticides on the environment and human health. Pesticides contribute to the pollution of soil, water, and air, as well as the disruption of ecosystems and biodiversity. Their prolonged presence in the soil threatens beneficial microorganisms and soil structure, while their entry into water resources damages water bodies’ ecosystems. Toxic substances in the atmosphere can cause respiratory diseases and exacerbate climate change. Pesticides also harm animals and plants, reducing the number of pollinators and predators. Pesticides have a long-term negative impact on human health, leading to chronic diseases such as cancer, nervous system diseases, and hormonal disorders. The article also examines pesticide alternatives, including biological methods, agrotechnical measures, and organic farming, as safer and more environmentally friendly ways to protect plants.
