This article discusses one of the main pests of the widely cultivated medicinal perennial plant rosehip in our country – the rosehip gall former, a species of gall wasp (Hymenoptera, Cynipoidea – family of gall-inducing wasps). The damage caused by this pest, its morphological and biological characteristics, methods of control, and the timing, techniques, and agents used to manage the pest are described in detail. Additionally, the negative impact of this pest on rosehip yield and productivity is highlighted.
