FACTORS FOR INCREASING EARLY POTATO YIELD UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF KASHKADARYA

This article presents the results of field experiments aimed at obtaining ultra-early and high yields from potato varieties Sylvana, Saviola, and Evolution. The research was conducted on irrigated light gray soils of the Kashkadarya region. Different planting dates (January 15–18, January 30 – February 3, February 15–18, and March 2–5 as control) and mulching methods (no mulch, manure, plastic film, and manure + plastic film) were tested. The results showed that planting in the second half of January and the first decade of February, combined with the application of 3–4 tons of manure per hectare and plastic mulching, created favorable growth conditions, promoted rapid plant development, improved leaf surface area, and ensured the highest yields (28–30 t/ha and above). Furthermore, most of the harvest was marketable with good storability and transportability.
