Improvement of Traffic Organization and Enhancement of Pedestrian Safety in the Central Part of Jizzakh City

The article examines issues related to improving road traffic safety and enhancing traffic management in the central part of Jizzakh. A comprehensive analysis of risk factors was conducted, including the intensity of vehicle and pedestrian flows, geometric parameters of the street-road network, traffic speed conditions, visibility conditions, and the level of road lighting. The main causes of conflict situations at signalized and unsignalized pedestrian crossings were identified. A set of engineering-technical and organizational-management measures aimed at reducing accident rates, decreasing the severity of road traffic accident consequences, and improving the efficiency of the street-road network functioning has been developed. The assessment of the expected effect showed the potential to reduce the number of pedestrian collisions by 35–50% with the comprehensive implementation of the proposed measures
