The role, social functions, and educational importance of public festivals and performances in society

This article analyzes the role of public festivals and mass spectacles in social life, their socio-cultural functions, and their educational significance. It examines the historical development of festivals, mass entertainments in Ancient Greece and Rome, medieval festive culture, and the spiritual and educational importance of festivals through the example of traditional Uzbek celebrations. In addition, the article highlights the role of traditional festivals such as Navruz and Mehrjon in fostering folk pedagogy, national values, social cohesion, patriotism, and the ideals of kindness and humanity.
