This article discusses the work “At-Taysir fi al-Tafsir”, authored by the renowned scholar Najm al-Din ibn ʿUmar al-Nasafi, a prominent figure from the land of Mawarannahr. The scholar’s work is devoted to the science of Qur’anic exegesis, in which the verses of the Holy Qur’an are interpreted in a unique style not found in other commentaries. Manuscript copies of this work are widely preserved in libraries and manuscript collections around the world, among which the copies kept in the manuscript repositories of Turkey hold particular significance. There are 95 known copies, though most of them have not been fully preserved. This article also provides an overview of Najm al-Din ibn ʿUmar al-Nasafi’s life and scholarly activity, the stages of his education, his teachers and students, and his works related to Qur’anic exegesis. Special attention is given to the most valuable manuscript copies of “At-Taysir fi al-Tafsir” preserved in Turkish collections, their distinctive features, and the unique aspects that differentiate them from one another.
