This article theoretically investigates the effect of the yarn funnel of a rotor spinning machine on yarn tension. It has been studied that the shape of the seal, the outer radius of the seal and the coefficient of friction of the fibers on the surface of the seal are of great importance in the formation of yarn. Equations and graphs were obtained that describe the dependence of the tension of the yarn formed in the thread-conducting funnel of the new design at the inlet and outlet. Based on the analysis of the graphs, it was established that the yarn tension is influenced by the parameters of the distances between the three convex riffles, the grip angles and the speed of yarn release. As a result of theoretical research, the possibility of obtaining optimal design parameters for a thread-carrying device has been developed. Through the use of new compactors, additional twist is imparted to the radial part of the yarn located in the spinning chamber; it has also been established that additional twist increases the strength of the forming yarn, makes the process more stable, reduces the number of yarn breaks and significantly increases the productivity of the machine. It has been theoretically proven that replacing a smooth surface with a convex corrugated inner surface, which requires relatively little effort, affects yarn tension and uniform distribution of twists.
