ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
In this article, the possibility of using a simple water-soluble cellulose ether for the purpose of using it as a sizing solution in yarn sizing processes to reduce breakage on weaving machines and as a thickening component for printing textile materials was studied. Untwisted threads with a linear density of 20 tex were subjected to sizing. For sizing, solutions based on starch product with concentrations of 5%, 5.5%, 6% were prepared. In low concentrations of 1%, 1.5%, 2%, the ether exhibits high viscosity. The results of the analysis of the properties of the threads show that even at low concentrations, the threads sized on the basis of simple cellulose ether are not inferior to the samples sized on the basis of starch. 100% cotton fabric was selected for printing, the process was carried out using a single-stage steaming method. Active dye BEZEMA ROT S-3B150 RED ACTIVE (X) was used for printing. A thickener based on sodium alginate in the form of an 8% solution was prepared using traditional technology. The viscosity of such a concentration of sodium alginate solution is equal to a 1% solution of water-soluble ether. This proves the economical use of this ether as a thickener for printing textile materials with active dyes. The technical properties of samples obtained using the proposed thickener are comparable to the characteristics of samples printed on the basis of sodium alginate.
