ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
The article defines the main purpose and functional significance of insoles and inlay insoles, as well as the basic requirements for materials used in their production. It discusses the impact of the insole’s structural design, material composition, and thickness on the thermal conductivity and overall thermal insulation properties of footwear. Special attention is given to the interrelation between the thermal protection of the insole’s multilayer construction and the thickness of the bonded materials forming the base of the shoe. The study emphasizes that the selection of appropriate materials and the optimization of layer thickness play a crucial role in maintaining foot comfort under varying environmental conditions. Experimental results demonstrated that the traditionally used material layers for the bottom of footwear ensure satisfactory comfort only during the initial wearing period, when the ambient temperature ranges from -5.0°C to -19.9°C. However, these materials are not effective for prolonged wear at lower temperatures, such as -25°C and below, which indicates the necessity for further research and improvement of thermal insulation technologies in footwear design.
