This article analyzes the life and scientific activities of encyclopedic scientists with the pseudonym "Mutarriz" and their role in the development of Islamic civilization. The study revealed the contribution to science of thinkers who lived between the 9th and 15th centuries and worked in such centers as Baghdad, Damascus, Khorezm, Bukhara, Isfahan. In particular, it tells about his outstanding achievements in the field of linguistics, Hadith studies, Fiqh, medicine and philosophy. Although the "Mutarriz" ratio was initially associated with a profession (tailoring), over time these scientists, named nisba, gained recognition in the global scientific community due to their scientific heritage. Important information about their work, academic schools, and students is also provided. The article is based on historical sources and has important scientific significance in the study of the history of Arab and Islamic sciences.
