AN ANALYSIS OF HADITHS PERTAINING TO THE TAFSIR OF SURAH AN-NISA IN THE CHAPTER ON TAFSIR OF IMAM AT-TIRMIDHI’S «SUNAN»

The science of Hadith is one of the main branches of Islamic source studies and is recognized as a crucial source for the correct interpretation of the verses of the Holy Qur’an and for enriching the methodology of tafsir (exegesis). Among the major hadith collections formed within this science, the work «Sunan» by Imam Abu Isa Muhammad ibn Isa at-Tirmidhi (824-892) elucidates, through hadiths, the verses of Surah An-Nisa related to such topical issues as inheritance and bequest, kindness to parents, and the social status of women. In particular, the distinctions in matters of inheritance, the rights of women and men, and the foundations of these distinctions in Sharia are explained in detail. Based on the events described in the hadiths, issues of justice, social equality, and legal distinctions within Muslim society are also highlighted. The article demonstrates the connection between the science of Hadith and the science of Tafsir, emphasizing the significant role of hadiths in the profound interpretation of the verses of the Holy Qur’an.
