This article analyzes the scientific, theoretical, and methodological aspects of deriving legal rulings from customs within the Hanafi school founded by Imam Aʿzam. It explores the significance of ʿurf in Islamic jurisprudence, its close connection with the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and qiyas, as well as its role in issuing legal judgments through practical examples.
