The study investigates the functional and grammatical aspects of conditional clauses in Arabic and English. Conditional sentences are considered a challenging topic for language learners due to differences in verb usage, tense, and conditional particles between the two languages. Arabic conditional clauses often rely on variations of particles while keeping the verb in the same tense, whereas English conditional sentences require tense changes in both the conditional and result clauses. This structural difference can create difficulties for students in comprehension and translation. To analyze these challenges, the study draws on linguistic literature and practical examples, highlighting the similarities and differences between Arabic and English conditional clauses.
