The musical heritage of the uzbek people, which has come down to us through oral transmission from one generation to another, consists of two layers of music - folk (sing, lapar, yalla, song, ritual, labor, calendar songs, etc.) and professional music of oral tradition (katta ashula (big song), suvora, maqom and etc.). At present, the musical art of modern Uzbekistan, which has absorbed all the richness of ancient traditions and modern trends, is developing in many areas: the necessary conditions are created for the development of musical art and raising the musical culture of society, serious work is being done in educating the young generation on the basis of the classical national and world music art. These and other aspects of the musical culture of Uzbekistan are covered in the content of this article.
