In the 1980s, new works – tragicomedies – began to emerge in Uzbek dramaturgy and stage art, in which elements of laughter and tears, joy and sorrow, comic situations and dramatic tension were organically combined. These works, arising from the synthesis of the artistic means of tragedy and comedy, as well as comedy and drama, require a particular worldview and a distinct artistic mode of thinking, implying the interpretation of life phenomena in a specific, generalized, and often unconventional form. The article examines the history of the creation and the significance of a work that played a pivotal role in the development of the art of comedy.
