This paper examines the loss of organic carbon from the upper zone to the lower desert region due to the changes in
bioclimatic zones of light brown meadow steppe soil in the south-western Gissar mountain range. The results show
that organic carbon in typical grey soils is 2.5 times lower than in light steppe soils, and it is about 8 times lower in
desert zone.
