Based on the setting that the processes of regional metamorphism are
closely related to the general geostructural development of the earth's crust, this article
focuses on reviewing some of the most interesting stages in the evolution of the
concept on the deep structure of the central Kyzylkum region. The central Kyzylkum
uplands are located in the western part of the Tien Shan hercynides bordering from
the north and south with rigid massifs of the Syrdarya and Karakum of Tajikistan,
respectively. Based on the classical concepts of geosynclinal theory in the region until
the 1970s, structural-formation zones and subzones were distinguished, separated by
163
deep faults and differing in the type of section, age of folding, and structural features.
This is of great importance for the study of the deepest parts of the Central Kyzylkum.
A comprehensive study of metamorphic rocks of the Central Kyzylkum to Mesozoic
allows us to determine the age of volcanic products, their shape and composition.
Their composition and age varies, with younger layers on top of older layers. This
leads to the formation of magmas of different composition and volcanic products. The
formation of continental, subregional, and pan-regional blocks in the lithospheric crust
due to various faults results in the formation of volcanoes composed of alkaline
magmas.
