Mazkur ishda ilmiy maqolaning paydo bo‘lishi hamda hozirgi 
zamonaviy shakli haqida so‘z boradi. Maqolada XX asrning 50–60-yillariga 
kelib, ilmiy axborotlarning bibliografik, tahliliy, referativ sharhlarini tayyorlash, 
monitoringini olib borish va baholash hamda ilmiy adabiyotlarni izlash 
muammolarini hal qilish uchun katta hajmdagi axborotlar bazasi yaratish 
zaruriyati paydo boʻldi. Shu munosabat bilan ilmiy jamoatchilikda koʻp tarmoqli 
iqtibos indeksini yaratish haqidagi mulohazalar yuzaga keldi. Bu masalalarning 
yechimini topish zaruratidan kelib chiqib, amerikalik olim Yudjin Garfild 
“ilmmetriya” faniga asos soladi. Bunda bir qator tushunchalarga, xususan, 
“ilmmetriya”, “permutatsiya koʻrsatkichi”, “kvartil”, “Impakt-faktor”, “Xirsh 
indeksi”ga mufassal taʼrif, talqin va tasniflar keltiriladi.

 В данной работе рассматриваются вопросы возникновения 
научной статьи и её современной формы. Отмечается, что к 50–60-м го-
дам XX века возникла необходимость в подготовке библиографических, ана-
литических и реферативных обзоров научной информации, мониторинге 
и оценке данных, а также в создании значительной информационной базы 
данных для решения проблемы поиска научной литературы. В связи с этим 
в научном сообществе появились идеи создания многопрофильного индекса 
цитирования. Исходя из необходимости решения этих проблем, американ-
ский учёный Юджин Гарфилд заложил основы науки «наукометрия». В рабо-
те подробно рассмотрены такие понятия, как «наукометрия», «показатель 
пермутации», «квартиль», «импакт-фактор», «индекс Хирша», даны их опре-
деления, интерпретации и классификация.

This paper examines the emergence of a scientific article and its 
modern form. It is noted that by the 50s-60s of the 20th century, there was a 
need to prepare bibliographic, analytical, and abstract reviews of scientific 
information, monitor and evaluate data, as well as create a significant 
information database to solve the problem of searching for scientific literature. 
In this regard, the scientific community has come up with ideas to create a 
multidisciplinary citation index. Based on the need to solve these problems, 
the American scientist Eugene Garfield laid the foundations of the science 
of "scientometrics." It provides detailed definitions, interpretations, and 
classifications of a number of concepts, in particular, "metrics", "permutation" 
"index", "quartile", "impact factor", and "h-index".
