Ephedra genus is most important herbal among gymnosperms. This genus has 6 species in Uzbekistan and there are 40 species in the world. They are shrub and perennial plant. Evergreen shrub (height 1-2 m), dioecious, erect or hanging, with deeply penetrating and spreading root system. Life span 50-100 years.
