About Journal

ABOUT JOURNAL

The Information and Library Science Journal “INFOLIB” is a scientific publication included in the list of international scientific journals of Uzbekistan, peer-reviewed by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) in the following areas: 07.00.03 – History (specialisation: 17.00.03 – Manuscript Studies); Scientific and Technical (specialisation: 05.01.01 – Automation of Library Activities); as well as in the fields related to the development and implementation of an integrated system of standards aimed at the intensive advancement of information and library institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and their equitable integration into the global information space. The journal also welcomes interdisciplinary research covering library pedagogy, sociology, psychology, IT software, history, and other related fields.

The publication is registered in the National Database of Scientific Journals of Uzbekistan “sLib.uz” (einfolib.uz) under the title “INFOLIB”: Information and Library Science Journal of Uzbekistan. It is officially registered with the Uzbek Agency for Press and Information under registration number 0846, dated March 10, 2015.

The primary mission of the Information and Library Science Journal “INFOLIB” is to provide comprehensive coverage of developments in the information and library field, to inform the public about ongoing reforms, and to share the best practices of national and international institutions. The journal also seeks to promote the formation of a unified research and information environment among the information and library institutions of Uzbekistan.

On its pages, the journal publishes materials distinguished by a diverse and relevant range of scientific issues, reflecting a broad spectrum of problems in the global information and library sphere of foreign countries.

The thematic focus of the journal is determined by the following objectives:

– to reflect the issues of library science and bring them to an interdisciplinary level;

– to highlight the development of information technologies and address current topics such as: efficient reader services, development of electronic libraries, children’s reading, training of cataloguers and bibliographers, services for users with disabilities, creation of audiobooks, organisation of virtual reality spaces for children’s development, model libraries, and content management of collections, among others.

Given that the scientific library school of Uzbekistan maintains extensive connections with the post-Soviet republics—where the research approach differs from the Western European tradition — the editorial board considers it essential to accept materials in Russian, covering the Asian part of the Eurasian continent and continuing the scientific traditions established during the Soviet period. At the same time, considering the scope and influence of the Western European research approach, the journal also welcomes submissions in English.
