The article investigates the problem of collection and recycling of
waste oil products, which is an urgent, moreover, a cost-effective and scienceintensive
field, because if the regeneration process is organized correctly, the cost of
regenerated oils is 40-70% lower than that of fresh oils, while their quality is virtually
the same. The possibility of using waste synthetic oils as fuels, which have, however,
a lower combustion heat than OM, was investigated. It was determined that unlike
ester oils which mix with petroleum oils, PAHs form a two-phase system with the
latter, which creates difficulties in pumping and injecting such fuels. The proposal of a
method to regenerate fluorinated oils such as perfluoropolyethers,
perfluoropolyphenyl ethers, and thiazine perfluoropolyethers using different halogencontaining
solvents or their mixtures for lubricant cleaning is analyze. The rational
use of OM for the production of solid fuels by solidification and briquetting has been
investigated. It has been determined that the above-mentioned environmental and
economic problems in the production of OM fuels will contribute to the development
of the production of more expensive base oils from OM. It has been determined that
the physical methods used to pre-treat waste oils are not suitable for the purpose of
producing environmentally friendly fuels, especially with regard to the subsequent
emission of particulates, halogens and metals such as lead and copper (the presence
of particulates in oils is a consequence of the wear of lubricating equipment).
