In the water supply system, losses due to hydraulic hammer occur due to
malfunctions in service areas, cracks in pipes, non-hermetic joints, and to prevent them, it is
aimed to research the methods of protection against hydraulic hammer. In this context, proper
organization of the operation process of centrifugal pumps, reverse valve operation process after
water is transferred to the transmission pipe in the pump, pressure pulsation in the pump station,
synchronization of rotation frequency; increasing the pressure in the pipe by synchronizing the
rotation in filling the pipe; activation of closing devices after pressure increase; problems such as
reaching the arithmetic mean at the exit was considered and necessary conclusions were given.
Because of the experiment, 8 formulas were fully studied. Therefore, in high-capacity pumps, the
pressure varies slightly in practice, and is determined using analytical formulas for small pumps.
Calculations of the pressure in the pumps through the graph of the maximum increase and
decrease values give the exact value.
