This article analyzes the role and influence of enlightened intellectuals in the process of forming the spiritual and moral education of students from a scientific and theoretical point of view. In it, the ideas and pedagogical views of the leading representatives of the Jadid movement - Abdulla Avloni, Mahmudhoja Behbudi, Ismail Gasprinsky, as well as their reforms in the education system of their time, are deeply studied. In particular, based on historical and literary sources, their efforts to create an educational system based on the harmony of national spirit and universal values, their selfless activity in instilling in the hearts of young people such high human qualities as patriotism, honesty, justice, and diligence were analyzed. The article also substantiates how relevant the works, speeches, and practical work of enlightened intellectuals are today in educating the younger generation as well-rounded individuals, and ways to effectively apply their legacy in the modern educational process.
