ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
This article provides a scientific analysis of the issues related to preserving national flavor in the process of literary translation. The study is based on examples of Uzbek and English literature, and the features of re-expression in translation of folk expressions, national mentality, units related to traditions and cultural images are studied. As a result of the analysis, it was found that in the process of translating language units with national color, problems such as narrowing of meaning, weakening of emotional-expressiveness, and partial loss of cultural context are frequently encountered. The article also substantiates that the use of cultural adaptation, explanatory translation, and stylistic equivalence strategies is an effective tool for mitigating these problems. These approaches not only fully convey the content of the work but also serve to develop students’ skills in understanding and interpreting the text. The results of the study show that preserving the national spirit and cultural identity is of great importance in the theory and practice of literary translation.
