ANALYSIS OF CHISEL CULTIVATORS USED IN PRE-SOWING TILLAGE OPERATIONS

This article analyzes the structural design and technological capabilities of chisel cultivators used for pre-sowing soil tillage. The technical characteristics and operating principles of domestically produced CHK-4-6, CHKU-4A, and CHK-4M units are examined. The arrangement scheme of working bodies and aggregation conditions are evaluated from the standpoint of efficiency. A comparative analysis with wide-span cultivators produced by foreign manufacturers is also conducted. Their design features, advantages, and disadvantages are highlighted. The role of chisel cultivators in high-quality soil loosening and mechanical weed control is substantiated. In addition, the influence of working width, tillage depth, and tractor traction class on performance efficiency is determined. The research results are of practical importance for selecting energy-efficient and high-performance machinery for pre-sowing soil preparation.
