CORPUS LINGUISTICS AND LANGUAGE TEACHING: AUTHENTIC MATERIAL ANALYSIS

The article examines the importance of corpus linguistics methods in teaching foreign languages ​​and the analysis of authentic materials. The study was based on the British National Corpus (BNC) and the Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA), and 500 collocations and 1,200 concordance samples were analyzed. Corpus approach methodology, concordance analysis and quantifierist techniques were applied. The results showed that corpus linguistics provides authentic language materials to provide realistic language application indicators. Collocation analysis helps identify the most common word combinations. In the Data-Driven Learning (DDL) approach, students independently extract information from the corpus and discover language rules through induction. The study compared 12 different corpora and identified their areas of application in language teaching. Authentic materials showed higher scores than artificially created didactic texts in terms of lexical diversity (45%), grammatical complexity (38%), and pragmatic naturalness (52%). The corpus-based approach increased students' collocational competence by 34%. The study provides a new, empirical approach to foreign language teaching methodology.
