ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
The article explores the linguistic features of the Uzbek language in social networks and forms of internet discourse. The study was conducted on the basis of a corpus of 850 Uzbek-language texts written on the Telegram and Instagram platforms. Discourse analysis, corpus linguistics, and statistical analysis methods were used. The results showed that the language on social networks is becoming closer to spoken language, acquiring its own lexical, grammatical, and stylistic characteristics. The phenomenon of code switching is widespread, and language contacts between Uzbek-Russian and Uzbek-English have been observed. Anglicisms (62%), neologisms (28%) and emotive vocabulary (45%) are found with high frequency. Graphic-stylistic means (emoji – 78%, CAPS LOCK – 34%) performs pragmatic functions. Internet discourse is characterized by simplified syntax, abbreviated forms, and creative language use, in contrast to formal written language. The study provides new material to modern Uzbek linguistics and sheds light on the problems of digital communication and language change.
