The article describes the world practice of constructing bridge structures with seismic isolation. The authors emphasize the impossibility of applying the standard linear spectral methodology for selecting seismic isolation parameters due to the nonlinear deformation behavior of devices. The need to improve methods for calculating seismic isolation systems under conditions of limited information about seismic impacts is substantiated. The main types of seismic isolation bearings are described: rubber-metal and kinematic pendulum bearings. The shortcomings of existing calculation methods and ways of their development are analyzed.
