This paper analyzes the application of basalt-based materials produced from local raw resources in construction and geotechnical engineering. The main advantages of basalt reinforcement bars, meshes, and fiber-based materials are discussed along with their limitations, including low elastic modulus, brittleness, and reduced performance at high temperatures. The possibility of overcoming these drawbacks through the combined use of basalt and steel reinforcement is substantiated by practical experience. In particular, a two-story building constructed using combined basalt and steel reinforcement has shown no structural defects during five years of operation. In addition, the effectiveness of basalt meshes and basalt-fiber bags in geotechnical applications—such as slope stabilization, erosion control, and protection of transport infrastructure—has been demonstrated. The results confirm the promising potential of basalt materials when used in combination with traditional construction materials.
