QUALITY INDICATORS OF GRAIN OF THE “ULTRA” AND “FLESH” WHEAT VARIETIES

This article presents the results of a study on the effects of irrigation regimes and mineral fertilizer rates on the grain quality indicators of the winter wheat cultivars “Ultra” and “Flesh” grown under irrigated typical sierozem soil conditions in the Tashkent region, Uzbekistan. The results showed that maintaining pre-irrigation soil moisture at 70–70–65% of field capacity (FC), combined with the application of mineral fertilizers at rates of N-150, P-105, and K-75 kg ha⁻¹, significantly increased the gluten and protein contents of the grain. The highest grain quality indicators were recorded for the “Ultra” cultivar, with gluten and protein contents of 28.2% and 15.3%, respectively, while for the “Flesh” cultivar, these values were 27.9% and 14.9%, respectively.
