The article presents the results of studies on the dynamics of live body weight and exterior traits of Bukhara Sur-colored Karakul lambs with different curl pattern types reared under gypsum desert conditions, depending on curl pattern type, across various age periods from birth to 18 months of age. The study revealed that the live body weight of ewe lambs at birth differed significantly depending on curl pattern type. Lambs with the Caucasian curl pattern exhibited the highest live body weight at birth, and this tendency was also maintained at 4.0–4.5 months of age. The growth of the animals was intensive and followed a regular pattern. Compared with their birth weight, the increase in live body weight amounted to 21.30 kg, 21.99 kg, 19.94 kg, and 22.85 kg, respectively, for the studied curl pattern types. Based on the coefficients of variation, it was established that the live body weight of Sur-colored ewe lambs could be increased by 3.37–5.88% at birth and by 2.81–4.02% at 4.0–4.5 months of age through selective breeding. Furthermore, under gypsum desert conditions, ewe lambs were characterized by smaller body size than ram lambs, while the rate of increase in exterior traits gradually declined with advancing age.
