ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
The paper outlines the design and construction of an architectural model of a Braille-based, multi-purpose radio-engineering device, specifically designed to be used by persons with visual impairment. The system is an integrated system that combines textual input and tactile display modalities with GSM, GPS, and audio functionality, which are all coordinated by a united microprocessor based system of control. The modular design provides instant data processing and real-time information transfer. An inter-module signal flow model that is theoretically justified is introduced and the functional effectiveness of the system is strictly evaluated by means of the empirical measurement. The obtained data are the confirmation of the practical feasibility of the given architecture and the strength of its operations in the field of assistive technologies.
