The article presents the characteristics of the parts of the cocoon divided into three groups and analyzes their silkiness and unwinding. Various methods of the process of drying pupae and preliminary processing of cocoons were studied, since the high quality of raw silk depends on the quality of mulberry silkworm cocoons and the technological processes of their preparation before reeling. The samples taken for the experiment were divided into 3 groups and the initial weight of each cocoon was measured. The first group was prepared for single reeling without any processing of the cocoons. The cocoons of the second group were also first weighed, then their pupae were processed in the Japanese moisture-determining dryer Harada, available in the quality laboratory of the institute "Centex.uz". After drying, the weight of the cocoons was measured again. Based on the samples divided into three groups, calculations were carried out for the parts of the cocoons using the experimental results, and the lengths of the silk thread reeled from the cocoons were determined. Based on several formulas, indicators such as the mass of other parts of the cocoon, pupae, skin, and larval shell were calculated and summarized in a table. In addition, the total length of the cocoon thread, continuous length, yield of silk thread and specific consumption of cocoons were determined.
