ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
The article presents an analysis of the quality of prints produced by an inkjet printer on various types of paper using microscopy methods. Today, considerable attention is paid in the printing industry to product manufacturing through rapidly developing digital printing technologies. The correct selection of inks and surface properties of the printing substrate based on widely used inkjet technologies makes it possible to ensure stable print quality. For this purpose, it is necessary to scientifically justify the choice of the printer and the type of paper used as the printing material within the “printer–ink–paper” system. In this study, a special test object was developed for a comprehensive investigation of graphic resolution and printed on three types of paper: offset, matte, and glossy paper. Microscopic analyses were conducted to objectively evaluate the quality of the prints. The results showed that when using six-color water-based inks on glossy paper with a grammage of 200 g/m², the image contours are sharp, light reflection is high, and vivid, saturated colors are achieved. Therefore, the microscopy method is recommended for assessing the clarity of text and fine lines on printed surfaces.
