Oʻzbegimning goʻzal urf-odatlari oʻziga xos noodatiydir. Yildan yilga, avloddan avlodga oʻtib kelayotgan beqiyos urf-odatlarni, bir-biriga oʻxshamagan udumlarni sanab sanog‘iga yetolmaydi kishi. Koʻplab udumlarni qancha olqishlasak, qanchalik ular bilan faxrlansak shuncha oz. Ammo, shunday urf-odatlar va udumlar ham borki, ularni foydadan koʻra zarari koʻproqdek goʻyo. Soʻrovnomadagi bir necha oʻz fikrini bayon qilgan oʻzbeklar ushbu udumlardan voz kechish kerak degan takliflarni bildirishgan. Ayrim urf-odatlar bilan esa faxrlanishlarini, ularni juda yoqtirishlarini ayniqsa ta’kidlaganlar.

The colourful traditions of Uzbek people are unusual. It is impossible to enumerate the incomparable traditions and customs that are passed down from year to year, from generation to generation. But there are still such customs that seem much more harmful than being useful. Several Uzbeks, who expressed their opinion in the survey, suggested that these customs should be abandoned. However, they especially emphasized that they are proud of certain traditions and that they like them very much.
