“Ijtimoiy fanlar” ilmiy jurnali ochiq jurnal hisoblanadi. Mazkur jurnalning asosiy vazifasi “Uchinchi renessans” modellashuvi jarayonida Jahon fani va taʼlimining yutuqlari va istiqbollarini, dolzarb muammolari va ularning yechimlarini, shuningdek, ilm-fan va taʼlimning tarixi va rivojlanish bosqichlarini yoritib berishdir. Jurnal Oʻzbekiston Respublikasi Prezidenti Administratsiyasi huzuridagi Axborot va ommaviy kommunikatsiyalar agentligi tomonidan 2021-yil 1-noyabrda roʻyxatga olingan va 1456 raqamli guvohnoma berilgan. Jurnal OAK ning 2023 yil 28 favraldagi 333/5-son qaroriga asosan, OAK tomonidan 2026-yil 3-avgust holatiga “Dissertatsiyalar asosiy ilmiy natijalarini chop etish tavsiya etilgan ilmiy nashrlar ro‘yxati” ga kiritilgan.
