This article discusses the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on librarianship. The main focus is on the opportunities and challenges associated with the introduction of AI in libraries, as well as on the prospects of this process. First, the article provides an overview of the main definitions and concepts of AI, as well as the relevance of its application in librarianship. Next, we look at specific examples of the use of AI in libraries, including process automation, service personalization, analytics, and prediction. The article also discusses the issues and challenges associated with the adoption of AI, such as security and privacy issues, legal issues, staffing requirements, and budgetary constraints.
