This article is devoted to the study of the Zoroastrian religion and its sacred book «Avesto» in Arab countries. It emphasizes the significance of the «Avesto» not only for the peoples of Turan and Iran, but also for all mankind as a historical and cultural heritage. The article notes that Arab scholars, in the process of studying the «Avesto», conducted a comparative analysis from religious, historical, and cultural perspectives. In particular, the importance of comparing the ethical principles of the «Avesto» with Islamic philosophy and Sufism by Arab thinkers is emphasized. The article analyzes the differences in research conducted in Arab countries, in terms of religious and historical orientation. In particular, it is shown that in Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the religious approach prevails, while in Lebanon and other countries, more attention is paid to the historical aspect. The article also examines translations of the «Avesto» from Persian into Arabic made by Arab scholars, commentaries on it, and scientific approaches to its study. The authors reveal the connections of Zoroastrianism with other religions, the historical and cultural significance of the values contained in the «Avesto», as well as its place in Arab historiography and religious studies. This study is an important source for historians and religious scholars studying Zoroastrianism.
