«Тарихи Жевдет» – Манғитлар даври сиёсий, иқтисодий ва ташқи алоқалар тарихини ўрганишда муҳим манба (XVIII аср охири)

The geography of sources that illuminate the late‑medieval history of Turkestan particularly that of the Uzbek khanates is not wide. Besides works produced within Turkestan itself, one may cite certain data found in texts written in Iran and in the Mughal state, the memoirs of Russian and English envoys and travelers, as well as various historical documents. In reality, however, the geographical spread of historical sources covering this period is considerably broader. The limited scope of sources can be explained, from the standpoint of source studies, by the fact that they have not yet been fully examined. For example, historical works composed in the Ottoman Empire or China, together with archival correspondence reflected in them, have not been thoroughly studied and widely employed in our scholarship. The same observation applies equally to historical sources of the Timurid‑Mughal, Safavid, Afsharid, and Qajar periods. One such source is the multi‑volume work «Tārīkh‑i Jevdet.» Up to the present day, the information contained in this work has not been drawn into Uzbek historiography. The article offers a translation of these data from Ottoman Turkish and provides their historical analysis.
